Skeggøx Viking Axe

Skeggøx in Old Norse means bearded – referring to the curving head of the axe blade. Historically, these Viking axes were the perfect weapon, as the curving cutting edge concentrates the power of a blow into a small section of the edge, giving it enough force to punch through mail or a helmet, while also adding the advantage of being used to hook an opponent’s limb or shield.

Our axes are perfect as a display piece, but are also fully functional throwing axes. They are made from an English ash haft and high carbon steel blade that has been blackened, and come with a leather axe head sheath. Each axe is customised with the distinctive Norse Hawk green signature design – choose from the Cyber Dragon ombre, the Green Ranger or Burnt green. Axes can also be rune burnt or leather wrapped upon request.
