FAQ

Is Axe throwing safe?

Safety is our number one priority. Our ranges are designed to offer a safe and enclosed throwing space, with axes routinely checked and carefully maintained. You’ll be under the watchful eye of an experienced instructor for the entirety of the session, in order to maintain range safety at all times.

Is there parking?

We have a large open car park. Just turn left as soon as you enter the site.

What should I wear?

Full Viking battle-dress isn’t necessary, but closed-toe shoes are!
Make sure you wear comfortable clothes, and flat shoes are best.

Is the venue pet friendly?

As much as we love pets, we love safety more. Leave the battle pony at home, but well-behaved  dogs are welcome.

Can we wear fancy dress?

Sure. Who doesn’t love getting into the Viking spirit? But keep in mind our other guests, if your costume is offensive or causes distress to others, you may be asked to change.

Can others come and watch? Can we bring our kids?

Only paying adults will be allowed on the throwing ranges. Children under 10 years may be brought along to a family session, but they will not be able to take part in throwing, and must be supervised at all times.

Will there be food and drink available?

We have coffee, tea and soft drinks available. We don’t currently offer food, so feel free to bring your own. Or email us about party hire or evening party options.
We have merchandise, Viking gifts and game sets, and gift vouchers available too.

Are there toilet facilities?

We’re not completely stuck in the Viking Age. There are male, female and disabled toilets on site.

Can we drink alcohol beforehand?

No. We strongly advise against drinking alcohol beforehand. Should our instructors believe you’re under the influence, or behaving in an unsafe manner you’ll be asked to leave.

Can I axe-throw if I’m pregnant?

Yes, Axe throwing is a relatively low-intensity activity. But, if you have any concerns please consult a doctor first. If you are in the third trimester of your pregnancy, or up to 6-months post-partum, we strongly suggest speaking with your midwife or doctor before booking.
